Tom Ford Lip Color Review

It's no surprise to fellow makeup junkies that I have a slight (and when I say slight, I mean ridiculous) obsession with lipsticks. I'm the type of junkie that will buy a new lipstick even if its slightly different than the one I already have. Which is why I didn't hesitate to buy my first Tom Ford lipstick.
Tom Ford Lip Color in Pink Dusk $49

What Tom Ford has to say about his lip color: "TO TOM FORD, THERE IS NO MORE DRAMATIC ACCESSORY THAN A PERFECT LIP. IT IS THE FOCUS OF THE FACE AND IT HAS THE POWER TO DEFINE A WOMAN'S WHOLE LOOK. EACH LIP COLOR IS TOM FORD'S MODERN IDEAL OF AN ESSENTIAL MAKEUP SHADE. RARE AND EXOTIC INGREDIENTS INCLUDING SOJA SEED EXTRACT, BRAZILIAN MURUMURU BUTTER AND CHAMOMILLA FLOWER OIL CREATE AN ULTRA-CREAMY TEXTURE WITH AN INCREDIBLY SMOOTH APPLICATION. SPECIALLY TREATED COLOR PIGMENTS ARE BLENDED TO DELIVER PURE COLOR WITH JUST THE RIGHT BALANCE OF LUMINOSITY."
My Thought: These lipsticks are extremely pigmented. The color payoff is amazing, you hardly need to put any on to get a desired coverage. Which at a $49 price tag, its good to know that you aren't using a ton of product each time. Tom Ford lipsticks are also nice and creamy with a satin finish. They don't leave your lips feeling dry and they aren't too moisturizing that they're slipping all over the place. Although they aren't advertised as a long wearing lipstick I felt like it lasted me well through a night out, so extra bonus points to you Mr. Ford!

The Tom Ford lipsticks leave a lot to be desired. From packaging to product its hard to resist not buying the lot of them.

My Final Thoughts: For the lipstick obsessed like myself, you NEED at least one of these beautes in your collection. I chose Pink Dusk because I wanted a color I was going to get a lot of wear out of(but I've got my eye on a few other shades). For the everyday girl or woman who isn't looking to expand a collection you may find $49 to be a bit mad. It is an incredible lipstick but I'm sure there are other alternatives for you. If you want a color similar to the one shown above, M.A.C Patissiere lipstick is a more sheer version of Tom Ford Pink Dusk and for a 1/3 of the price.

Everyday Fall/Autumn Makeup

Hello my lovelies!

I had a day off today, so I decided to be productive. I spent the day, not filming just one, but 3 videos for my youtube channel! And after filming them I decided I needed to edit and upload one as soon as possible. And since its nearing Christmas time I had to make sure I got a fall video in. Thus bringing us to this post. This is the makeup that I've been loving for an everyday fall look. Please take a look and then share it with the world. No fears. Love you all. Thanks for reading ;)

Oh and if you watch my video, please leave a comment saying my blog brought you there!…and then subscribe ;-)

Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder

The Sculpting powder of all sculpting powders.

Were do I start with this baby? Kevyn Aucoin is a makeup artist legend who was taken from us too soon. He certainly left behind a legacy. This one product alone is enough to keep his name in the running.

This ultra smooth, luxurious powder is suitable for most skin tones. It comes in the shade "medium" but I find that even on my skin (the fairest of fair) it works. There is something so subtle about its pigments.   Its true, this powder looks a little grey toned, and thats because it is. Thats also what makes it the perfect shading color. Since it has grey tones (and also indigo tones, so i've been told) it gives the illusion of an actual shadow. Sometimes with bronzers or shaping powders they are too warm, sometimes causing the skin to look muddy or overpowered by cheek color. With this sculpting powder I find its not hard to get the perfect contour with  just a few strokes.

The only problem I have with this product is the price and availability. I live in LA so its a little easier for me to come by and also as a MUA makes the price better. But if you don't have these traits then the price is a hefty $44. Getting ahold of it is also a little tricky. You can order it offline from many sites, or if you have a Space NK near you, but its unlikely you'll find it in a department store other than Barneys or Bergdorfs. If you do live in the LA area, Nigels Beauty Emporium in NoHo retails KA.

All together though I absolutely love this sculpting powder, I do think its worth the price. It is very easy to use with a contour brush (forget that shitty little brush they include in the compact). Kevyn has a brush made for this powder but i've yet to venture into paying the pretty penny for it. If you do, leave a comment letting me know what you think about it!
